Research Focuse

Francesco Sorge’s research primarily focuses on mechanical engineering and dynamics, particularly in the context of vehicle systems, vibration analysis, and kinematics. His work spans several areas, including the analysis of vibratory coupling in musical instruments, the dynamics and maneuverability of vehicles, and the stability of rotating systems. Notable themes in his publications include the kinematics of polygonal hole drilling, vibratory behaviors in bowed string instruments, all-wheel-steering for aircraft maneuverability, and multi-trailer vehicle path correction. Sorge’s contributions significantly advance understanding in the mechanical behaviors and control systems of both vehicles and mechanical structures.
