Research Focuse

Gabriele Saretzki, PhD, focuses her research on the role of telomeres and telomerase in ageing and neurodegenerative diseases. Her work explores how telomere dysfunction can lead to senescence or apoptosis, and investigates telomerase activity using TRAP assays. She has extensively studied the implications of telomerase in the brain, particularly its potential in ameliorating neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease. Dr. Saretzki also examines DNA damage in adipocytes and the effects of nutritional interventions.
